In my time of prayer yesterday I heard the spirit of the Lord say: “I am about to break through and break forth on your behalf.” And then I heard: “Baal-Perazim.”
This was the battle that David fought against the Philistines and won after asking the Lord’s permission to fight them. David is given the green light by God, and the Israelites end up victorious.
David says that the Lord bursts through his enemies like a raging flood. So he names the place Baal-Perazim which also means “Lord of the Outbursts” or “Master of Breakthrough.”
And the spirit of the Lord says: Now that the battle has ended, watch how I overtake your enemies, and overwhelm you with blessings like a flood.
This connected to the scripture he led me to recently Amos 9:13 (MSG):
Yes indeed, it won’t be long now.” God’s Decree.
“Things are going to happen so fast your head will swim, one thing fast on the heels of the other. You won’t be able to keep up. Everything will be happening at once—and everywhere you look, blessings! Blessings like wine pouring off the mountains and hills. I’ll make everything right again for my people Israel:
“They’ll rebuild their ruined cities. They’ll plant vineyards and drink good wine. They’ll work their gardens and eat fresh vegetables. And I’ll plant them, plant them on their own land. They’ll never again be uprooted from the land I’ve given them.”
God, your God, says so.
The Lord is getting ready to move with exceptional force and power on the behalf of the righteous, the obedient, and the faithful who have endured much. Especially those of you who know you are on the cusp of a turnaround, you can see your new destination, you have even been appointed to new positions, you released relationships, locations, or even jobs that he told you to but are just getting ready to step fully into the new God has for you. This move of God will be above and beyond all you could ask or think! For many of you are waiting on the Lord to completely transition you into the new and it feels as though nothing is happening. But your story will be one of SUDDENLY, the God of the breakthrough arose on your behalf. This means you will be delivered, you will expand or increase, and that God will overcome every enemy.
This morning in prayer I heard the spirit of the Lord say: Those who are unfamiliar will soon witness my Breaker anointing. I am the one who takes shallow ground and makes it deep, I am the one who severs ties that are fruitless, I am the God that breaks every chord and chain of the enemy and frees my people. In this season, my Breaker anointing will be on full display and those who oppose me will be consumed with the fear of the Lord. For when I break, what I break cannot be put back together. And for whom I break forth their momentum can never be stopped. I, the Lord, am doing this now, my breaker anointing is here.
In Micah 2:13 (KJV) it says: The One who breaks open the way will go up before them; they will break through the gate and go out. Their King will pass through before them, the Lord at their head.”
This verse in Micah mentions breaking through a gate and led me to think of a recent word he gave me about avoiding diversions at the gate, and also of the scripture Isaiah 45:2-3 (NIV): I will go before you and will level the mountains; I will break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron. I will give you hidden treasures, riches stored in secret places, so that you may know that I am the LORD, the God of Israel, who summons you by name.
If the Lord has to break down gates, we realize that 1) gates exist, and 2) they are impenetrable without the Lord himself breaking them down.
Then the Lord led me to an amazing book “The Breaker Anointing" by Barbara J. Yoder that helped me to go a bit deeper. In the book it discusses how “Breaker-Through” is one of the names given to Christ, (p. 24). And that breakthrough is not something we can do in our own strength. When the breaker anointing is released it induces deliverance, it forces everything into alignment, and it rushes forward with a momentum that cannot be stopped.
Some words that are synonyms for break include: shatter, smash, breakup, crush, splinter, break into pieces, demolish or eradicate. When the Breaker-Through emerges, He demolishes everything in the spiritual and natural that is in the way of His plans and purposes for our lives.
The two characteristics of God the breaker that the book I found mentioned are: “1) The Breaker as a King with Kingdom Authority, and 2) The Breaker as a Covenant-maker and Covenant-Keeper,”(p.26)
It then made sense that the day prior the Lord led me to pray into this using Deuteronomy 28, and the blessings promised for keeping his commands. Those blessings are what God covenants to do for us, if we obey His word and are faithful to Him. You can use that scripture (and replace you with “I” to pray through) or pray the shorter prayer below.
Blessings for Obedience
1 If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth.
2 All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God:
3 You will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country.
4 The fruit of your womb will be blessed, and the crops of your land and the young of your livestock—the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks.
5 Your basket and your kneading trough will be blessed.
6 You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out.
7 The Lord will grant that the enemies who rise up against you will be defeated before you. They will come at you from one direction but flee from you in seven.
8 The Lord will send a blessing on your barns and on everything you put your hand to. The Lord your God will bless you in the land he is giving you.
9 The Lord will establish you as his holy people, as he promised you on oath, if you keep the commands of the Lord your God and walk in obedience to him.
10 Then all the peoples on earth will see that you are called by the name of the Lord, and they will fear you.
11 The Lord will grant you abundant prosperity—in the fruit of your womb, the young of your livestock and the crops of your ground—in the land he swore to your ancestors to give you.
12 The Lord will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none.
13 The Lord will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the Lord your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom.
14 Do not turn aside from any of the commands I give you today, to the right or to the left, following other gods and serving them.
Here’s a short prayer you can pray into regarding this word: Heavenly Father, I come before you in the name of Jesus and thank you in advance for the breakthrough that is coming in my life. Lord I surrender to your timing and your ways and trust that you will bring forth a sudden deliverance in my life from everything that has held me bound or restricted. Thank you Lord for the promises you have spoken over me, being made manifest. Lord, I ask for the wisdom and grace I need to step into the new season and fulfill the purposes you have for my life. Thank you Father for settling me in this new season and teaching me how to properly steward what you have for me. Help me to rely on your strength and not my own. In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
